Warner Music Group (WMG), the New York-based music and entertainment company, has announced a significant expansion of its Global Tech division and official opening of a new international technology hub in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
The new hub would drive technical innovation across WMG’s global technology suite, powering key initiatives in music distribution, data infrastructure and products, from core data pipelines to audience and marketing data products, while advancing engineering efforts in those areas leveraging AI and emerging technologies, said the company.
Mahesh Rao, director of Software Engineering and site lead for India, WMG, said, “The caliber of talent in this market is exceptional, and we are looking for ambitious engineers and innovators who want to help shape the future of the global music industry.”
According to Leho Nigul, chief technology officer, WMG, Bengaluru isn’t just an extension of WNG’s tech team. “It is central to WMG’s global engineering strategy. We are investing heavily in local leadership, modern tech stacks, and globally competitive compensation to attract engineers who want to solve complex, high-throughput systems problems at the intersection of music and AI.”
The Bengaluru facility is scheduled to open officially next month, with active recruitment underway across multiple technology disciplines that will build on WMG’s capabilities, according to the company.
