Nagpur man dies suddenly during Nagdwar pilgrimage in Pachmarhi

Nagpur : A religious pilgrimage to the famous Nagdwar shrine in Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, turned tragic for a 32-year-old man from Nagpur after he suffered a sudden medical emergency and died while on his way for darshan on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sumit Mankar, a resident of Omnagar in the Sakkardara area of Nagpur. Sumit had travelled to Pachmarhi with a group of friends in a four-wheeler to participate in the Nagdwar pilgrimage.

According to preliminary information, Sumit was proceeding with his friends towards the religious site when he suddenly complained of severe chest pain and uneasiness. His condition deteriorated within minutes and he collapsed.

His friends immediately rushed to his aid and attempted to take him to a hospital. Despite their efforts, doctors examined him and declared him dead.

Sumit had reportedly left Nagpur on Saturday along with his friends in a four-wheeler. The group had travelled to Pachmarhi with the intention of undertaking the pilgrimage and seeking blessings at the Nagdwar shrine.

The journey had begun on a cheerful note, with Sumit reportedly looking forward to the religious trip. However, the situation changed abruptly the following day when the group was proceeding towards the shrine.

According to those accompanying him, Sumit began experiencing chest pain and restlessness. He reportedly told his friends that he needed to stop and rest and asked them to proceed ahead.

His companions initially believed that he would recover after taking some rest. However, his condition suddenly worsened.

Shortly after complaining of chest pain and uneasiness, Sumit collapsed. His sudden fall caused panic among his companions, who immediately tried to revive him and arrange medical assistance.

He was taken to a hospital without delay. Doctors conducted an examination but could not revive him and declared him dead.

The preliminary information indicates that he may have suffered a heart attack, though the exact medical cause of death will be established through the requisite medical and official procedures.

News of Sumit’s death reached his family in Nagpur soon afterwards, leaving his relatives shocked and devastated. He had left home just a day earlier for what was expected to be a routine religious trip with friends.

The news also spread through Omnagar, where neighbours and acquaintances gathered to console the bereaved family.

The sudden death has cast a pall of gloom over the locality. For Sumit’s friends, the pilgrimage that had begun as a religious and recreational journey turned into a traumatic experience within a matter of hours.

The necessary procedures following the death are being carried out by the concerned authorities.
