A police sub-inspector filed a complaint against Aishwarya, daughter of MLA Suresh Gowda. She allegedly abused and assaulted the officer while on duty at a temple. Aishwarya reportedly demanded immediate entry into the sanctum sanctorum despite a large crowd. The officer stated she was asked to wait for two minutes. Both parties have filed complaints, and an investigation is underway.
MANDYA: A police sub-inspector has lodged a complaint against Aishwarya, daughter of Tumkur Rural MLA Suresh Gowda alleging that she abused, assaulted and obstructed her while she was on duty at Aarathi Ukkada Temple in Srirangapatana on the occasion of Bhimana Amavasya on August 12.
The complaint was submitted at the Mandya Women’s Police Station at around 8.15 pm by Police sub inspector Savitha. According to the complaint, at around 4.30 pm, Maddur PSI Shekhar escorted a man and two women to the temple for darshan. After offering prayers, Aishwarya reportedly approached the gate and demanded entry into the sanctum sanctorum. Savitha told her that there was a heavy crowd and allowing her to enter immediately could lead to protests from devotees waiting in the queue. She was asked to wait for two minutes..
The woman allegedly refused and questioned the officer’s authority, claiming to be the daughter of a MLA. She reportedly began shouting and using foul language against Savitha. Around the same time, Inspector Lakshmi, who was in uniform, arrived near the sanctum sanctorum. The woman allegedly questioned why the inspector was allowed inside while she was being stopped. The woman then threatened Savitha and allegedly slapped her on the cheek.
The woman allegedly threatened to ruin the officer’s career.
Kyathanahalli Police have registered the complaint and are investigating.
Speaking to TOI Savitha said “Along with our police officer the woman came in VIP entry. She wanted to get inside the sanctum sanctorum, as it was a heavy rush I just told her to wait for two minutes. But she didn’t listen to me instead started to abused and slapped me.
V J Shobharani, Superintendent of Police, said “Police Sub Inspector Savitha has given a complaint stating that Aishwarya slapped her. Aishwarya also has filed a complaint that the police officer abused her. We are investigating both the complaints she said.
