NAGPUR: A chlorine leak from a tanker at a water plant near Collector’s Colony in the Godhni area affected several families during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, with residents reporting breathing difficulties.
According to Mankapur police officials, the leakage occurred late at night. Several affected residents were taken to Mayo Hospital and nearby private hospitals after complaining of breathing problems. Police said the situation was under control.
The exact number of people affected has not yet been ascertained, as authorities are still working to establish the total number of residents impacted by the leak.
However, the smell of chlorine continued to linger in the immediate vicinity of the tanker. The impact appeared to remain largely confined to the area surrounding the water plant, while residents and morning walkers farther along Godhni Road continued their routine without visible panic.
